After some Thai whisky - which is very strong - and some coke, we were ready to kayak on our way. Thai families are very friendly! 

The conversation took place in Thai but progressed about the same as the English translation above. The daughter was a bit shy at first, but the family cheerfully smiled and posed on their picnic mat for a picture before going back to their sabai sabai (relaxing) late-afternoon lunch.
